Oneblock - A Reset

As time goes on motivation fades, players get bored and the server begins to feel empty and inactive.
Oneblock Remastered, as it was called, released on the 22th September 2023 and merged the existing OB Glacier and Vulcan into a single new fresh and reset Gamemode after 3 long years. At the time, it was the right decision - and it worked. The reset brought back a lot of old players, general excitement and competition. Now three years later we find ourselves in a very similar situation:

- Most OG Players quit
- The "new" Oneblock is now going for 3 years
- The overall statistics mentioned in the past release announcement are mostly matched or exceeded
- Old times are repeating

Cloak, your announcement back then mentioned difficulty of maintaining "the same quality" over such a long period and other people just like myself see the same thing happening again. Heavily inflated economy, progression feeling less meaningful and newer players catching up to what's been pushed to a limit.

Since Oneblock Remastered released on 1.20.1 till now on 1.21.11 (and soon 26.1), a huge amount of content has been released to build upon for a refreshed experience.
Furthermore, please don't understand us wrong, we fully understand a reset cannot happen instantly. Preparation takes time - balancing, testing, fixing, adjusting and who knows what more. Our goal is not a rushed decision rather a simple ask for transparency and consideration.
In addition, there will always be people who vote against a reset - especially new players who just started and we completely reason that. However, this situation will always exist. If that alone would prevent action, the Gamemode would effectively never reset again.
A reset is never a decision that makes everyone happy - but it can be the decision that keeps Oneblock alive.
We stand together and express our wishes for a reset of the gamemode. Our wish stems not out of pure frustration much rather we wish for something fresh and lively to foster new-come motivation.
Foxcraft is a place many players invested a lot of time in and we would love to see a new start, a new chapter. And most importantly restore motivation.

We believe a reset would:
- Bring back inactive OG players
- Create a fair starting point for new players
- Revitalize the economy
- Restart competition and progression
- Increase overall activity and player retention (Hype)

This is why i and many others WANT a reset, now im going to explain what i PERSONALLY would like to see changed, ofcourse everyone will have different opinions on this and can share it here.

I think the server would benefit from leaderboards like PvP leaderboards giving vote points at the end of every month/week to the top contenders. This would make PvP more active, while on the topic of pvp, me personally i would like to see the removal of custom enchants. Instead, i personally would love to see the return of the old higher protection&sharpness levels. I would also like to suggest 2 pvp arena's. In one, keepinventory is on for casual players, in the other, keepinventory is off for the diehard-pvpers. I would like to suggest there also being 2 seperate pinata's. (Both spawn when the goal is reached) One thats in the keepinventory on pvp arena, and one in the mobarena. Then, i would like the PvP pinata to have better loot like diamonds and netherite. And the mobfarm pinata having the current lootpool. I will add onto this and reply to this suggestion as i see fit.

oneblock is turning to be a dead gamemode. there is nothing to grind for, pvp is dead and overall og players quit fox. bring back volcano and the other one i forgot, +1
 
I for one agree. I think it is high time for a reset. Its one of the reasons i left in the first place.

Oneblock has just grown stagnant. New players are faced with an economy that is IMPOSSIBLE to even approach.

I would love to see a Oneblock that isnt as over run with Minions. Or things that will automate too many things.

Very few minions are actually needed.

Lumberjacks are nice. Dont really ever need more than 1 or perhaps 2.

Fishers: They should just be removed. Entirely. It had KILLED the fishing community that was there before and made fishing completly useless. Noone bothers to enter tournaments, or to have shops. Fish lost their entire value, the moment they were able to fish up custom fish. It killed EVERYTHING related to fishing, on a players front.

As for the Pinata, the only thing i really have a problem with is that people will hold it hostage right now, trying to get kills on new players, or those who doest pvp.
So something really should change with that. Those who need the pinata in general, doesnt have the gear to fight those who guards it, with the intent on getting kills. Its forcing two groups together and its creating a socially hostile envirement that can really piss off alot of new people, who just sees it as extreemly unfair, when a pinata they voted for, gets held hostage. So 2 pinata's would solve the problem. 1 outside pvp which just has blocks, and spawn eggs for farm animals. Thats it. Second one, in the pvp area, that has more combat related loot, such as a chance of higher enchants, a enchant slot on a piece of gear, etc. Monster Spawn eggs (all of them..)
