Kingdoms - Neutral kingdom balancing for better combat and gameplay
Description of suggestion
Part 1: Neutral kingdom members should not be able to enter their land to be safe while in combat.
Currently, neutral kingdom members cannot be damaged or do damage in their own land. A common tactic for members of these kingdoms is to start a fight with someone else, and then run to a chunk claimed by their neutral kingdom and wait out the combat timer until they can warp out, thus avoiding being killed. As a non neutral kingdom, this is incredibly annoying because they can attack me all they want, and then just step back into their neutral land until the timer is over and there's literally nothing I can do about it.
Having a border around neutral land claimed by your kingdom, like the one preventing players in combat from entering spawn during combat, would solve this problem and keep the PVP fights fair and clean. If you start a fight with someone, you're agreeing to the outcome if you lose. Being able to run away and stand in your neutral land safe zone until your timer runs out should be considered combat glitching, the same as entering parkour or the spawn safezone while in combat. The timer exists for a reason, primarily to keep players from teleporting or warping away, logging out, or ducking back into a safezone to avoid losing. This is completely bypassed by neutral kingdom land, and completely defeats the purpose.
Alternatively, if this is too hard technically to implement, neutral kingdoms could serve as a no pvp initiation zone, but fights outside of neutral land could be continued if the players in combat cross the border. This would not be as ideal, but might be easier to implement from the development side. The end goal would be to make sure aggressive players aren't abusing their neutral kingdom territory to get away from fights that they start.
Part 2: Members of neutral kingdoms should not be allowed to participate in raids/champion fights started by other players.
The main tactic for big neutral kingdoms at this point is to use an alternate account in a single member kingdom to initiate an invasion of another kingdom, and then players from the bigger neutral kingdom kill the champion, and claim the land. This way, they maintain their neutral status and cannot be attacked on their land or invaded by other kingdoms, but also can attack their non neutral enemies and take their land/items.
If members of neutral kingdoms are prevented from taking part in invasions initiated by other kingdoms, it will make it harder for players to hide behind the shield of a neutral kingdom.
I fully support neutral kingdoms, and fully support players that decide to remain neutral and enjoy the game without fighting or raiding, but I do not agree that aggressive players should be able to use a neutral kingdom as a shield to protect themselves while they attack and invade others. Having players that can invade you as they please, with no danger to themselves or their kingdom, is extremely overpowered and breaks the entire dynamic of the game.
Possible side effects of suggestion
I've pretty much covered the side effects above, but to reiterate again in a tldr:
Part 1: Combat would be much more fair, as neutral players could no longer abuse their shielded land to avoid being killed while their combat timer runs out.
Part 2: Neutral kingdoms would no longer be able to take part in invasions and raids on other kingdoms. This would make kingdom wars much more even, and would stop players abusing the neutral system for their own gain and safety.
I think both of these things are the original goals of having neutral kingdoms, but players are currently using exploits to get around them.
Neutral kingdoms are for players who just want to mine and build and enjoy the game. Players who want to invade and raid and fight should not be allowed to hide in them for unfair protection.
Thanks to all for reading. Hopefully these changes are easy to implement, and liked by the community.
Anyone who has tweaks or suggestions, I'd love your opinions in the comments.
