Battle royale maps no longer have working monster spawners or the monsters, villagers and iron golems that came with their structures, and are named after what is on their surface. New maps are made while no match is being played, with a shorter server hitch.
#
The KitPvP lobby bed now takes you back at once unless you were just fighting, and shows a clear on-screen countdown when you do have to stand still. Joining a match from target practice, KitPvP's death screen or with someone sitting on you no longer goes wrong.
#
Spawn protection at the start of a duel no longer punishes whoever attacks first, and a countdown shows how long it lasts. Kills now sound and look like kills, arrows, snowballs and eggs fly through teammates, and ender pearls cost health again as in vanilla.
#
Ranked season and promotion rewards and tournament prizes now wait until you are online, so you no longer miss them while away.
#
Team-mode kits keep their own items in the last hotbar slots: the chat and potion shop items now move to a free slot instead of replacing your food. With the potion shop off, the kit editor no longer blocks hotbar 8. Players who died now show up again at the end of a match, and no longer stay on fire as spectators.
#
Team, match and spectator chat now stay private instead of reaching the whole server and Discord, and the lobby is told, with a Join button, when a battle royale is about to start.
#
The hub's game item now says Play, and its menu groups the modes (battle royale, duels, 2v2, team modes) with their own icons, a short description and how many players are waiting and playing. Modes without an attack cooldown now say they are 1.8-style PvP.
#
Battle royale loot chests are easier to find (they sparkle until opened) and always hold a weapon, bows come with arrows, small lobbies play in a smaller zone, and the next zone shows on your locator bar. Deaths now say what killed you, and when the last players die to the closed zone together, whoever had more health left wins instead of a draw.
#
Waiting in a queue now shows how long you've waited and where other players are waiting, with a click to switch. /rvb queue opens the mode picker, mistyped modes list the modes, and battle royale keeps a group together for the next match instead of splitting it into small games.
#
Every match now starts with a line saying how to win. KOTH plays a sound and shows a title when the hill changes hands, and team matches end with awards such as Most damage and First blood.
#
Battle royale and other modes that put you back in the queue after a match now tell you so, and how to stay out. Losers no longer hear the victory fanfare, chat no longer shows empty lines or point messages for a shop that's off, and players waiting out a round are no longer kicked as AFK.
#
Bedrock players now see red and blue names above players' heads in every team match, and leaving a match no longer strips other players' ranks and levels from your tab list.
#
When the server restarts, matches in progress now end with no winner and no loss, instead of a result decided by who got moved off first. Before a planned restart, staff can stop new matches from starting and let the current ones finish.
#
Parties get a private chat (/pc), can queue while a member is still finishing a match, and party invites can be blocked. Settings now has a Duel a player button and switches for invites and spectators, and invites no longer pop up over a Bedrock player's fight.
#
Quick duel wins now earn their loot pack, up to 20 win packs a day. Win streaks now follow the order you played your matches, and the hub's 1v1 wins count every duel kit.
#
✨ New
Added /leave, /party, /duel, /play, /join and /watch as short commands, and /rvb now starts by telling you how to play. The hub's play items now say why they can't be used during an event instead of doing nothing.
#
Knocked-out players now get a Watch players item to follow whoever is still in the match, and stay near their team instead of flying off or getting stuck in caves. Spectators now see players' health, and Bedrock spectators can reopen the spectate controls by sneaking twice.
#
Bedrock players now watch through the player they follow in replays and spectating, and can tap a player to follow them, as Java players can again with a left-click. The end of a replay offers Watch again and Stop watching on Java too, and the replay list and the Settings menu entry now say plainly which match they show.
#
✨ New
Added /rvb top (and a Leaderboards button in Settings) to see who leads each mode, and your stats menu now lists only the modes you have played. Your place on the lobby leaderboards shows as soon as you join, and battle royale stats now count your finishes against the size of each lobby.
#
Tournaments can now be played as a round robin, where everyone plays everyone with no byes, and tournament times show their time zone. Tournament titles and rewards now need at least four entries.
#
Ranked rules are stricter: dodging a ranked match costs a little rating, leaving a ranked battle royale early always costs points and a queue cooldown, and parties must be close in rating. Ranked battle royale lobbies can now be bigger, or start with fewer players after a short wait.
#
Replays now show fishing rod casts, thrown healing potions in their real colour with their splash, and a totem of undying saving a player.
#
Advancements earned in a match no longer flood everyone's chat, battle royale snowballs only knock back, and match kills now count for the lobby kill boards and your PvP level.
#
Locked cosmetics now say where to get them, and Bedrock players can tap a cosmetic to read its description and see how a title looks before using it. Cosmetic effects only show to players nearby.
#
Locked kits now say how to unlock them, Reset to default in the kit layout editor only replaces your layout once you save, and Bedrock layout forms tell potions and enchanted items apart.
#
Players can now report a cheater right after a match, from the duel result, a player's page in the match breakdown, or /rvb report. Staff are told, and the match replay is kept for them to review.
#
Ranked modes now show the full tier ladder, how many points you need for the next division, and a rating history that explains every change, including inactivity decay. Bedrock players' ping now shows as unknown instead of a wrong 0 ms.
#
Right-click another player in the lobby while holding Party or Settings (or use /rvb profile or Settings) to see their profile: stats, what they wear, and buttons to duel, invite or spectate them. The lobby's queue items can now show how many players are waiting.
#
Battle royale matches can now be recorded and watched as replays, with each squad in its own colour, the zone closing in, and who went out and in what place.
#
Every RvB match now earns XP towards your own RvB level, with a line after each match showing what you earned and how far the next level is; reaching levels can unlock cosmetics and rewards. See your level with /rvb level.
#
✨ New
Added a logbook (/rvb logbook) with your match history and milestones such as first wins, best win streaks, promotions and tournament finals, where you can rewatch a match's replay. Your stats now show your leaderboard places and recent matches.
#
Try any cosmetic before you own it, and buy cosmetics with RvB coins earned by playing matches. The cosmetics menu now has pages, and every cosmetic shows its own icon.
#
While you wait alone in a duel queue, you can warm up on a training dummy with that mode's kit and see your damage and combos; your match takes you the moment it is found.
#
✨ New
Added daily and weekly challenges: three goals a day and three a week, the same for everyone, with rewards for finishing them, in /rvb challenges and the Settings menu, plus a featured mode of the day.
#
✨ New
New players get a welcome with a one-tap Play now, and anyone queueing for a mode that is already being played can watch it while they wait. On Bedrock, every match now ends with Play again and Return to lobby, and holding right-click no longer triggers the item that appears in your hand.
#
Players in the lobby and KitPvP are now told, with a Join button, when someone is waiting for a match, and you can ask to be told whenever anyone queues for your favourite modes. Battle royale lobbies can also be announced on the network's other servers.
#
With FoxFriends, your friends are listed first when you invite to a party, pick a duel opponent or choose a match to watch. Friends get a line with a Join button when you queue, there's an Add friend button after a duel, and /rvb friends shows what your friends are doing.
#
During matches, voice chat now stays within your team, and teams and squads get their own voice group. In battle royale solos you're reminded that teaming isn't allowed, and staff are told when two players stick together.
#
Your time holding the hill in KOTH is now saved: it shows on the KOTH page of your stats and in your match averages.
#
The mode of the day is now listed first in the Play and Unranked menus with a star, your profile shows how many of today's and this week's challenges you've done (and you can see an online player's), and XP from challenges now shows in your XP line after a match and can trigger the level-up message.
#
Play again and the queue-again item now work while you wait to watch a delayed match, and profiles show battle royale top 25% finishes instead of top 3. Battle royale replays now show what supply drops held and say when a squadmate is brought back.
#
Your logbook now records every fifth RvB level you reach.
#
Bedrock players now see the duel result and the match summary in the normal chat font: hearts are written as a word, and the sword and skull symbols are left out.
#
Lobby games can no longer be started in the middle of a match, while spectating or during a replay, and a tournament game now waits a few seconds for a player who was just in a KitPvP fight instead of pulling them out of it.
