It's a bug I was having with 1.8 too, reported it. but as dark said, simply rejoin in a more updated version of the game and it should work.

Playervault doesn't have such bugs, it's most likely laying around somewhere else.

AFKing is allowed to my knowledge, but maybe it's a donators only thing(?). A lot of players AFK in their base with miners, and other farms so it wouldn't make any sense to disallow it.

You must have a donator rank to generate anything besides cobblestone. I figure thats the issues. So the minion works fine, you simply can't generate ores.
