  • *Is your suggestion for the server and/or forum: so that some people can have the ss rank
  • *Description of suggestion: so that a specific amount of people can have the ability to /ss or /freeze people that look suspicious to check if they have clients
  • Possible side effects of suggestion: so more hackers would get caught and we wouldnt have to /ban people without 100% evidence because some people that got banned in the past were just laggy or really good

You do not Really need to Freeze them to check for hacks...

BUT u could make it to where Admins / staff Can do /effect KnockbackII ''name''.... and see if they jump backwards.... or simply stand in a adventure gamemode with vanish on and see if the player starts swinging at the invisible staff. alot of things can be done to check for hacks

this isnt that smart because it could be used unfairly it could only be staff that did this or maybe a retired staff member. Someone who IS hacking could freeze people that will report. Also you dont need to freeze someone to spot out if they are hacking it is usually very clear. So my opinion is it isn't a very good idea for players but for staff maybe.

thats why you could apply like helper and if u abuse you would be banned

that could be part of the rank also like /staff and you would go into a staff mode

i cant just apply for helper and auto get it fyi. what if someone really wanted it and got it then abused the power and/or hacked into it and found a way to freeze everyone? That wouldn't be great
 
when i was staff on the 2 servers i staffed on their Were staff ranks u didnt know about. Their were also more plugins involving Tattle tale's looking for players pressing Specific keys while playing commonly linked to toggling force field and other stuff. Course it went off all the time Just had to look for them doing it at the correct moment like when u would call them out .

of course i would have to watch them and get some evidence before asking them to screenshare or making a final decision that they were hackers

Nobody would ever do that lol. There isn't even a hack called that. It's just not possible.

keyword "was" and thankyou for you opinion but "abused af" i dont really understand because helper,mod,admin,hpatrol could have also been abused it all depends on how you enable it and who you give access to

The difference between helper and these perms you speak of is
1. Helper can't hit people in /god , /freeze would enable them to abuse and kill them
2. You get promoted from the ranks from trust, activity, moderation, etc. Mods and Admins usually don't abuse. Not saying they don't though *cough cough*
3. "was" keyword? It was a great rank and they only removed it since helpers have the exact same freakin' perms as HPatrol
4. Also, freezing someone won't do anything. If they have a hacked client they'll be smart enough to turn it off. Also, what happens if they aren't hacking? You're just freezing an innocent bystander/pvper

actually /freeze doesnt if you look at other servers with that command and it would be stupid if you were to kill someone after freezing them cuz whats the point if i kill them before i file check. if i freeze someone who is hacking how would they turn it off? you can check their files from their .minecraft you can check their minecraft and many other things

Why check their folders? I have a hacked client installed because I go on a server named 2b2t. That doesn't mean I'm hacking. You need evidence of them hacking, you can't just assume if you think they hack. Trust me, it's not that easy my friend.
 
What SprinkledDonut said, this is not a smart idea and can be abused. It's also not needed because if they weren't abusing they would only use this if they were suspicious of someboddy and if staff is suspicious of you, there are a lot of test to find out if you are hacking.

you can only ss/freeze if you have evidence or if a STAFF things that person is sketchy they will SS them, without a good view of knowing what hacks are only a specific group of people should get the commands/rank. Btw its really easy to tell if some1 is hacking like you can check when that person was using their client and if they are running it right now and alot of little things

I understand how you think this can be abused but ALL ADMIN RANKS can be abused and instead of waiting for a hacker to kill a player you can freeze them then and there and check if they are legit before letting them go if they dont hack

2b2t is a great server but the queue is annoying

If a simple command could check if they had a client, there wouldn't be hackers. Yes I understand that the specific group of people aka staff would get these perms but why do that when you can just watch them? It's literally not that hard to /v, /fly, and record them. It's LITERALLY as easy as 1,2,3. This command really won't do anything in my honest opinion. This is coming from somebody who's job was literally to do what I stated and go catch hackers in my freetime.
 
there is a reason bigger servers use this instead of watching because sometimes you dont have clear evidence but you cant just let the hacker leave but anyways i will continue this debate 2marrow im going to sleep good night
