Title Builder minion addition

Description of suggestion
Despite community efforts to get builder wands or world edit back into the island gamemodes' system, this has not happened yet. Therefore, I propose to develop a builder minion.

What does this minion do?:
It will place block by block on a pre-selected area that you can easily edit via the minion menu.

How does the minion work?:
Like you can link chests for other minions, with this minion you can link an area here via the ‘mark area’ button and then the minion will place block by block. Stopping once the area has been filled up.

How does the minion get building blocks?:
Just as you can link sorter minions to a main chest, the builder should have the same ability to take build blocks from a linked chest.

What do I suggest to keep things balanced:
Since this is a strong tool and gets work done quickly, I suggest that the builder can place 1 block every 20 seconds. This will keep the minion balanced.

Each upgrade reduces placement time of the minion by 1 second
Each upgrade adds a second markable area with an extra linking chest to take building blocks from
Each upgrade increases the size of the maximum possible markable area to build on

Extra features:
- the minion can override existing blocks in the area (however make this toggleable and a warning when enabling) (- T5 and up)
- the minion has the ability to place cropbs (- T3 and up)
- the minion has a filter for blocks to ignore when the override feature has been enabled (-T5 and up)

In my opinion the Builder minion is a strong and useful addition that fills the gap left by missing building tools. While it offers great potential, its effects on balancing needs careful consideration. However I believe the implementation of the safeguards will ensure this.

Range suggestions: By progressively widening the ranges like this, it is worth upgrading the minion
T1: 25x25
T2: 26x26
T3: 27x27
T4: 30x30
T5: 35x35
T6: 40x40
T7: 45x45
T8: 50x50
T9: 55x55
T10: 60x60

Possible side effects of suggestion
Good effects
- building gets done faster
- fills in the gap of missing building blocks
- not exploitable unlike worldedit, foxcreative and builder wands
- by adding the marked areas on a small range for lower tiers, it's not effective to AFK all night to expect your island being filled up with blocks. This comes with a balanced strategy.

Bad effects
- more laziness, however I doubt this will be an issue.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion :)

How would players define what the builder minion builds?

*cough* upvote my worldedit in foxcreative suggestion cuz its easier than this *cough*
cool suggestion tho +1 cuz im lazy

Hey, thanks for the suggestion :)

How would players define what the builder minion builds?
You're welcome! That's a great question! a possible way players could define what the Builder Minion can fill up.
Step 1: Player opens the minion menu
Step 2: Players click mark area option
Step 3: A visual border appears with the range you can select (just like what happens with farmer minions when you place them
Step 4: Within this range you click two ends (just by clicking the blocks), everything in between will be filled up by the minion.

I believe this is a great way to do it, better ideas might exist.

or make it a gui inside of the minion with a 9 by 6 area like a double chest and then make each slot count for 5 blocks or sum idk it just sounds easier

I believe there are many ways to achieve this. Quack's idea is already a good example.

However what if we keep the structure I designed:
  • Step 1: Place the Builder Minion on your island.
  • Step 2: Open the minion's menu and select "Mark Area".
  • Step 3: A visible border (like a glowing outline or particle effect) will appear, indicating the range the minion can build within.
  • Step 4: Define the area by clicking two corners (e.g., start and end points) to form a rectangle or square. Everything within this space becomes the buildable zone.
  • Step 5: Link the builder with a chest
  • Step 6: Place building blocks in the chest

For more advanced builds that use a pattern, a ‘copy’ pattern feature could possibly be added.
Concept: The minion "copies" what the player builds and repeats it automatically (including the exact block pattern the player used).
  • Step 1: Place the Builder Minion on your island.
  • Step 2: Open the minion's menu and select "Copy pattern".
  • Step 3: Select the area that needs to be copied (If the player does not click this, the builder will just fill the marked area based on the available blocks in the linked chest.

- This concept could potentially also add a ‘save pattern option’ that could be accessed by all builder minions you own.
- If the linked chest does not contain the required block, the Builder Minion will skip that block in the pattern and continue placing the available ones until the correct block gets added to the chest.
- Add default patterns like a sphere, cirlce, square, ...

Overview of all options in the minion menu
- Link chest
- Mark area
- Copy pattern / add pattern
- Select pattern
  • View a list of saved patterns., Select a pattern to apply, rename patterns, delete unwanted patterns.
- Rename minion
- View current marked area
- Building toggle mode (optional)
- Minion status
  • Includes: "idle" if toggled, finished if done, in progress
    • Includes the time remaining and a progress bar

@cloakfox, what do you think about this reworked scheme considering your question.
