Auto-smelting minions make cobbled deepslate from deepslate.
Meanwhile, cobblestone is auto-smelted to stone.
Suggested Change:
Auto-smelting minions smelt deepslate directly into deepslate, so that it is consistent with behavior of stone/cobblestone.
*I am aware you can work around this by using the silk touch option, but then all ores/other blocks are also silk-touched.
