This farm requires a humans interaction and for that I apologize. Also it would be helpful if you have seen my posts on the moss/bonemeal farm as this farm uses those items.

Required items to run this farm are dirt, azalea saplings and bonemeal. Required items to build this farm are 22 pistons, 2 sticky pistons, 4 observers, 2 droppers, 1 dispenser, 1 repeater, 10 redstone dust, 1 button, 1 pressure plate and some building blocks.

Starting on the left with 2 droppers and a button on the face of the top dropper. Inside the droppers are dirt in one and azalea saplings in the other. 2 pistons then next is the pressure plate, (any). The pressure plate is on a sticky piston which pushes an observer under the dispenser and observer next to the 2 pistons, (this makes a redstone clock to activate the dispenser. The dispenser is for bonemeal.
Then 2 rows of 10 pistons each. Behind the top row of pistons is 10 building blocks with 10 redstone dust on them. To the right is another observer which detects when a block is pushed in front of it and sends a signal to the sticky piston on the block behind the observer. This piston moves an observer to send a signal to the repeater which activates the row of 20 pistons.

This is the build completed. Now to run the farm there are a few things to know. First and foremost is the fact that if we stand on the pressure plate for too long the server will stop the observer clock, placing a sign stating to turn it off. To get around this simply pause for a few seconds after 3 or 4 rows have been pushed by the 20 piston wall. If the server does stop it on you, just break the sign and replace the observer and begin again. Try not to make the server stop it, obviously we are pushing our luck here and it would be best not to force them to change things.

With that out of the way lets show you how to work this machine.

Stand on pressure plate, then hit the button on the dropper. The droppers will give you one dirt and one sapling and the 2 pistons will activate. Once the pistons retract, place the dirt against the observer under the dispenser and then place the sapling on the dirt. The bonemeal will grow the sapling and this makes the dirt turn into rooted dirt. Wait until the tree grows. Once this has happened you can hit the button again, which pushes the rooted dirt and bottom tree block to the right and gives you another dirt and sapling.

Notice how there are no blocks 3 high except for the oak tree block. Do not place any building blocks in this space as it will stop any tree from growing and consequently waste bonemeal. You can put building blocks up to 2 high and things will work fine. Trees will continue to grow within themselves never needing us to do anything with them. I manually collect the oak logs and rooted dirt.

No bonemeal is wasted when there is no sapling or there is a tree block there.

There it is, all the rooted dirt you could ever need.

Hope this helps, have fun out there.
