It is a desert. You dont find neon blue in the sahara. ^_^




But uhm builders can add a few details to it.

I think a biome like this could be nice:

has some trees, can add some water, and little hills like this. I dont think it would add much lag, but all the extra stuff in the pvp area adds lag. Just a plain biome wont cause lag, but it's not sparkly enough for @Defol, so idk.
