The Netherlands
First of all, I'd like to start off with the problem. There are more Dutch people on the server than other nationalities (because of famous Dutch Youtubers, such as ProjectMinecraftia and TiesGames), and that that calls for a Dutch forum section . A lot of Dutch people, especially children, struggle with English, and want to ask questions. However, they are held back by their lack of English, and people on the forums call them dumb, or immature. We can see that a lot of people who do not speak Dutch think our language is annoying, and can get quite offensive at times. (I'm talking about insulting people using Google translate.) To tackle this problem, my suggestion is a brand new section, where the Dutch will be separated from the English and can talk in their native language. Of course, Dutch people will be able to post in other threads, if they speak English.
I hope the Foxcraft team will consider this suggestion to be added.
  • *Your in-game name: Exhaustible
  • *Is your suggestion for the server and/or forum: Forum
  • *Description of suggestion:
Add a section to the forums, where Dutch people can talk, in their native language. (all Dutch threads will be moved to this section)
  • Possible side effects of suggestion: There may be a chance that the section will require more Dutch helpers, if the forums grow bigger

Oh, now I see I've added the Dutch Discussion to the server department. My bad! I won't edit it, because I'm too lazy. Just imagine it in the community department!

Sort of insulting to the other players that don't speak English either but nor if they speak Dutch. I mean if we had to make an section for every separate country there would just be way too many sections. I think it's for the better if the forums stay english and I'll try my best to help the dutch players, since cloakfox and I are the only dutch staff members right now. But google translate just helps out well 2 so yeah.

I like the idea. Dutch is very much spoken on Foxcraft and it would be nice to see. Baest makes a good point though. I have experience with Xenforo (forum software), so here's a possible idea...
Make a "Language" forum section. Then I could make a forum prefix such as Dutch, Spanish, French, etc.. Then you make a thread, and you can choose any of the prefix options to indicate the choice language. Making multiple forum sections for each language is WAY too time consuming and unnecessary. With prefixes, you just have to slap a label on the thread and that's that.
EDIT: Again, I know how to do this, can it can easily be done.

Sounds like a good idea. Now, would the language prefix be in their language? Like if it's spanish it would say "espanol" ?

That's a great idea Kobeer! (yaya sisterhood) I speak some French myself, so I'd be spending a lot of time learning more about the language and speaking with French people. (And possibly answering their questions).

I would implement it myself, though I do not have enough permission to do that. However, it would be stupid not to accept this suggestion. It would make the forum a more diverse, accepting and friendly place for all members!

That's true, but I think the majority of the server is Dutch now, that's why I thought it would be a good idea. I didn't mean to make it insulting to anyone, just to make things easier and more understandable for everyone.

Yeah, that's probably better. I'll add it to my thread, thanks!

This is a great idea, and I think the forums would have more growth and a lot more diverse players would be able to easily use them! Definitely should be added :)
