Actually to use less ram you can make the plot larger and lower the sky limit. The server won't lag merely as bad as you think and it can always be fixed if there is any. As for the plots yes they would deleted but people can always redo it if they really wanted to and make something bigger!

Lag can be fixed but okay. The only real problem is how it would consume more ram.
